LesveDome Distribution and Registration policy.

LesveDome is a shareware with a free trial of 60 days. During this period you will be able to complete your Dome Automation project and you will receive the needed support. My LesveDome development activity is not commercial. This service is given with pleasure. To activate the free trial period, you have to send me (pierre@dppobservatory.net) your "Local Code" which is displayed once you start the LesveDome driver. As soon as I receive your "Local Code", I will send you a trial Registration code. Enter this registration code and LesveDome driver will be fully operational. Without the trial registration code, LesveDome driver disables calls to the K8500 Velleman module. To obtain an Unlimited Registration Code make a payment of 40 Euros (about 50 USD) and send me your "Local Code". If for any reasons you switch to another PC running LesveDome, send me the new "Local Code" and you will receive the permanent registration code.

Long term issues.

In the long term, when LesveDome driver will be obsolete and no more supported, I commit myself to release a last revision without registration key. But it's still possible that something wrong happens to me! To cope this issue, each time a new revision is released, a copy without registration key is deposited to my trustee friend Max Mirot maxmirot@charter.net In this worst case Max has accepted to release it on the Yahoo LesveDome group.

To avoid problems opening the .chm file use the following procedure:
- right click lesvedomedriver.chm link (updated on September 12th 2010)
- choose Save Target as ... (choose a convenient directory)
- click Open folder

To unblock the file (new security added in Windows)
- right click on lesvedomedriver.chm and select Properties
- click on the button named "Unblock", this button is at the bottom of the Properties window
- clic OK

- double click on lesvedomedriver.chm
- if needed Uncheck "Always ask before opening this file"
- click Open

LesveDome driver (V5.0.0.36) released on May 11th 2012

- Bug correction, the directory "My Documents\DPP Lesve" is now created correctly, even if the user has changed the default location of the "My Documents" folder. - To download click on following link LesveDome 5.0.0.36 Setup.exe

LesveDome driver (V5.0.0.33) released on March 19th 2012

- The shutter limit switches (optional) are also read when the shutter is not in operation.
- The old error/logfile named LesveDomeErrorFile.txt and located in the program directory has been renamed as LesveDomeLogFile.txt and is now located in "My Documents\DPP Lesve".
In case of trouble have a look at this file and send me a copy if you need assistance in your project.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.0.30) released on September 12th 2010

- Users with french regional settings (comma as decimal separator instead of classical "dot") had problem to install the program with ASCOM Platform 5.5 This issue has been fixed
- The Velleman Analog digital inputs can be used to read shutter limit switches. This function is still in beta test. The documentation has been already updated (see chapter Harware/Shutter Control)

LesveDome driver (V5.0.27) released on May 10th 2010

- ASCOM Platform 5.5 saves the "Profile" in a file instead in the registry. This is a slower process, new version of LesveDome reduces the number of access to "Profile"
- Now it is possible to change the K8055 address, default is the old value = 0

LesveDome driver (V5.0.23) released on April 11th 2009

- Installation program has been corrected.
- Now, digital output #7 is available with a dedicated button.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.21) released on November 21th 2008

Some users asked for a modification of LesveDome driver for it's behaviour with shutter. With this driver, it's no more needed to close dome shutter when you have stopped the shutter move (setting shutter in error status).

LesveDome driver (V5.0.19) released on October 27th 2008

In this version, the symbols for CW Stop CCW moves have replaced by texts : CW, Stop and CCW as some users got problem with uninstalled fonts. When you quit LesveDome, if some other applications are still connected to LesveDome, you will be warned and have two options: let run LesveDome or quit despite the warning. I've introduce this feature to avoid to use "Task Manager" to kill LesveDome still running in background as it has clients connected.
I have also introduced more tests for registration process to help users having installation problems.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.18) released on August 29th 2008

This version contains all features of preceding version and solve the HANGING problems reported by some users.
In case of problem send me the error/log file "LesveDomeErrorFile.txt"
(located in directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\ASCOM\Dome) for analysis.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.17) released on August 27th 2008

This version tries to restart Velleman module in case of problems and is more verbose in the log file "LesveDomeErrorFile.txt" Send me this file, in order to be able to analyse the problem.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.13) released on June 1st 2008

This version creates a log file "LesveDomeErrorFile.txt"
in directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\ASCOM\Dome If you encounter problems, open the "Traffic window" in main LesveDome window, all traffic will be saved in the LesveDomeErrorFile.txt.
Send me this file, in order to be able to analyse the problem.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.10) released on April 15th 2008

- The installation program has been improved to avoid some problems with installation. The main program LesveDome.exe has not be changed in this version.
- The Help file lesvedome.chm now includes tips for the choice of power supply. A specific interface for Sirius domes is described.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.9) released on March 22th 2008

- This new version requires that the latest version of ASCOM Platform V5.0 is installed. Update your Ascom platform from http://ascom-standards.org/

Help file has been improved and provide specific information for EXPLORADOME users
Troubles with Regional Settings in Registration process have been fixed

A SWITCH class has been implemented, now it's possible from an external program to Turn ON/OF the Telescope. (see provided Help file)
Now it's possible to change the dome image on main window.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.3)

- A synthetic schematic of motor control has been suggested by Charles Harrow. Schematic.pdf The software version V 5.0.3 is compatible with this new schematic and remains also compatible with older schematic.
- Help file has been updated in accordance.

LesveDome driver (V5.0.2)

- The driver has been updated to be also fully compatible with the new release of ASCOM Platform V5.0. As this Ascom platform is still in beta test for developers, continue to use the ASCOM Platform 4.1. Ascom platform is available at http://ascom-standards.org/downloads.html
- The LesveDome driver is provided with it's own installer.
To install the driver, you have just to download and execute "LesveDome Setup.exe".
To uninstall the driver, use the "Add or Remove Programs" utility provided in the Windows "Control Panel".
To install a future new version you will not need to uninstall the previous one.

- A classical Help is provided. While focus is on LesveDome window click F1 keyboard key to access the Help file.
- The Shutter operation can take place when dome is at Park, Home or Any positions. User selectable in Setup.
- The dome diameter can be determined by a 360 degree rotation, click "Estimate Dome Diameter" button.
- Other small corrections.
